In 2016, LBPC played on the basketball court of Bixby Park/90802. As the group grew it moved to Bayshore Playground/90802 before shutting down for the COVID years. Today, drop-in play is at Somerset Park/90807 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.  A number of Intro to Pickleball clinics were held at Houghton Park/90805 during 2022 which brought a few players into the Somerset realm. Join us and help grow community pickleball throughout the LBC!

• When courts are not full, or not many are waiting, winners remain on the court, split, and call out "Next two" for waiting players to come on court. 

• Once we reach four active courts with many waiting picklers we go to the paddle rack for pickler rotation. If you want to play, put your paddle on the right side. When players are needed on court, players will be selected from the left side of the paddle rack.  Sometimes we'll have up to three paddle racks up with each rack covering a certain number of courts. This helps mix up play and can alleviate wait times between games. 

• It's helpful if you put your name on your paddle, so we can call you on court. Also, it's important you stay alert to who gets called up for a game. Often, picklers are so engaged with new friends they miss their name being called and miss the chance to be on court. 

• After playing two games in a row, please sit out to let others play while you take time to meet your competitors and make new friends.

• Be kind. Take turns. Help newer players. No drama. Have fun. Remember good sportsmanship. Respect is the name of the game!

On the courts, you'll find grandparents playing with their athletic grandchildren, high school and college students dinking away, and everyone competing to stay active, fit, and meet new friends.
